Honda is a Japanese car company that is known for producing reasonably fuel efficient vehicles with low maintenance costs. The carmaker is a well established brand that is known for its reliable engines and futuristic styling. It currently offers five different models in the Indian market including Honda Brio, Amaze, CR-V, Mobilio and City. Honda Mobilio and Honda City are two Honda cars between between Rs 10-15 lakh.

Honda Mobilio

Honda entered the MPV segment in India with the launch of Honda Mobilio and it is the most recent among Honda cars between 10 to 15 lakh. The car is a stylish looking seven-seater with good interior space and flexible seating. It boasts of the most advanced, contemporary and up-market features. The car is available in a total of seven variants in both petrol and diesel guises but it misses out on an automatic variant in both the forms. The petrol unit carries a 1.5-litre, 6 cylinder i-VTEC power plant that belts out 117bhp of power and 145Nm of torque. The diesel version of the car is powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC mill that also does duty in Amaze and City. It produces a top power of 99bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm. The petrol version offers 17.3kmpl of mileage while the diesel version chips in an impressive 24.2kmpl of fuel economy. The car is fun and easy to drive and has been cleverly slotted by Honda between Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova.

Honda Mobilio

Honda City

City, the mid-size sedan from Honda is the most popular product by the company in India. It is the most sought after among Honda cars between 10 to 15 lakh and carries a strong aspirational value among the Indian buyers. The company unveiled the fourth generation City in 2013 and was subsequently launched in 2014.

The car is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol unit carries the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that churns out 98bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. The diesel version of the car is powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that delivers 119bhp of power and 145Nm of torque. The petrol version gets a five-speed manual CVT gearbox and the diesel version is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Honda City is the most the most fuel efficient car in India across all segments and the diesel version delivers a highly impressive mileage of 26kmpl. The petrol version of this car is already close to 50% market share. It is fun to drive in both city and on Highways.

Apart from these two models, Honda is also offering Honda CR-V that in the high end category and goes way above Rs. 15 lakh with a starting price of Rs. 20.25lakh.
